Sharon and Michael,
We are all tucked in to bed and crate here in Hartselle. This beautiful day would be incomplete without our communication of gratitude for your care for both pup and new home. Sophie has such a sweet, happy personality, and your patience and time today with Hud and Rich certainly calmed our nerves. Thank you so very much for the advice and links and suggestions; moreso, thank you for the care with which Sophie comes to us. We thought you might enjoy the photo in return.
Much gratitude,
Julie

Greg P and Louie
Much to the chagrin of the neighborhood, we have fulfilled our contractual obligation and Louie was neutered a few weeks ago. Everything went fine and within 48 hours, there was no indication that anything had changed, except for the short hair on Louie’s leg where they did the IV. So we have let everybody know that there will be no stealing Louie away to have him secretly mate with their particular bitch.
He is truly a joy to me and Cathy, though every once in a while he reminds us that he is a puppy and will chew a little bit, particularly on the family room rug. But for the most part he is PERFECT. I am still frequently stopped by people who want to know what he is and where we got him. I am considering having a card prepared with your website on it.
This is a true story. I was coming back from Lorain on a Sunday afternoon after attending a family funeral with my sister. Louie had stayed at her house while she and I attended the funeral. Shortly after I picked up Louie and headed for home, she called me to say that she had lost her keys and could I check in my car for them. Since we were on the turnpike and approaching the next exit in a mile or two, I pulled over to check along the doors. I got out of the van, with Louie on the short leash, and checked the side doors. A car then pulls over in front of us, and backs up to be close to us. It was a middle aged couple who wanted to know what kind of dog, and where they could get one just like him.
So that was shocking to have a car pull over on the turnpike. Never had that happen before.
Louie has also completed his obedience I training and had the high scores in the class. I think that he knew that he was being tested because he really showed off for the class. The test included, sit, lay-down, stay, come when called, greeting, and loose leash walking. Dogs had to go to the center one at a time and do each command separately and then be graded. Because I work with him daily I know that he is quite capable of each of these commands, however, Louie does have a mind of his own and lets me know it (he frequently will look at me with a twinkle in his eye when is about to do the opposite of what I have commanded). However, for the test, you would have thought that he was a performer going through a well practiced routine. Every command was executed crisply and he returned to the sit position after each command. He then gave me his high five (paw lifted straight up high while in the sitting position) to finish up. Blew away the competition.
Enough for now. I will send you some new pictures shortly. By the way, are these dogs sort of shy about the water? I have a children’s pool for him and there are the shallow fountains at UT that we go by frequently. In spite of the 90 degree heat, Louie does not go into the water. Even though his two walking pals, Jack and Cloey (yellow labs just a little bigger than him) jump directly into the fountains, he stays out. Any thoughts about this? I figure that he will eventually go in. Doesn’t he know that Poodles were originally water retrievers?
Size wise, Louie has weighed in at 47-48 pounds now for 3 weeks in a row. So growth is slowing. The vet thinks that he is very trim and fit. Her thought is still about 60 pounds. We will see. I am determined that he is not going to be an overweight dog, so he does a lot of running with his two pals. He is also a great ball retriever. I like to really sling the ball and he takes off like a greyhound after a rabbit. None of that happy prancing that he does around the yard while playing. He stays low to the ground and has a complete coil. He can outrun both of his older (1 year and 3 years old) Lab buddies.
Hope all is going well with the two of you. Any litters coming up? I need to check your site more often but frankly I am having too much fun with Louie to stop and cruise the internet.

Hi Sharon! We made it back safe. She was an angel! I don't even have groceries in the house yet, and who cares about unpacking right now! But, we wanted to let you guys know we couldn't be happier.
I will forever be thankful that you are the caring and professional dog breeder that you are. You didn't have to give us a choice like you did, but you are obviously a people person to, and you might have sensed something that I didn't even know at the time. We would have loved the other puppy as well, but I will admit that I would have always wondered (IF) she would have grown up and had the (straighter hair and not as doodling looking) I would have always wondered why.
Thank you for educating us about all of that and with training tips and advice. She is perfect for us and WITH us.
One more night closer to crate training, she is doing so well. You and your videos were a huge help.
Thank you again for a wonderful lunch and visit. We could have visited with you guys so much longer. Such a great couple you are! But we made the right decision to get back with her, and just get back after being away from home for 3 months. The kids came over, they loved her. They are coming over again today. (hope they bring dinner!:-)
I will get on Facebook soon! If there is any part of this email that you would want to include with any of your blogs/stories to people, feel free.
We will certainly keep you in mind if there is any interest in a goldendoodle with family, friends, or strangers as we will always be bragging about Sophie!
Being a labor and delivery nurse makes you the perfect person as a breeder. You were there to give Sophie as well as her brothers and sisters the best start in their lives.
Thank you again for making this such a wonderful experience.
We will keep you posted:-) Dee and Greg, and Sophie too!

Mike and Sharon,
Just wanted to let you know how much we're enjoying Lucy (from last December's Nova/Maverick litter)! She's definitely a straight-haired doodle, but we think she's as cute as any curly-haired one, and she's GREAT with our baby (I had just found out I was pregnant when we were in the process of picking out a puppy, so we decided to go ahead with the process, and we're SO happy we did!!) Here's a picture of Lucy and our now 5 month old, Hallie. :)
Thanks again!

I wanted to share some pictures from Sandy’s first year. She celebrated her first birthday December 10. We could not have found a better dog anywhere. She is doing great. She is super smart and beautiful. Sandy has been a perfect fit for our family.

This is Charlie last week headed to a fundraiser for her boy's (Nicholas) travel baseball team. She is at
most games sitting in the stands with her girl (Reese) watching Nicholas play. We love her so much. When Charlie is not traveling with the baseball team she relaxes at the family lake house. She loves her boat rides.
Charlie also loves to go visit her friends at Dog School 101. She graduated top of her class and loves to go to school on pool party days. She also loves the ice cream socials at school as well. She is such a big part of our family, we just adore her.

just wanted to let you know that we are still wildly in love with our birdie. she is a year old now this christmas and is doing wonderfully. she has been so easy to train, so good and calm with our kids, just a dream come true. here is a picture of her before she recently got groomed. i'll send you another picture (maybe through a facebook message) of her after being groomed, on halloween. my kids insisted that she was in costume as well -- not only did she put up with it, i think she kind of liked it :)

I just wanted to send you an email to tell you that Birdie is doing great. She is such a delight. She has a spunky little personality (much like my middle daughter who also has curly blonde hair!) and keeps us laughing. But she also loves to be loved and has long moments of quiet and calm. She is going to be a perfect addition to our rambunctious home. She is finally getting the hang of going OUTSIDE to potty -- she lets us know every time now. I know we're biased, but we think she is the most beautiful Doodle we've ever seen! Her hair is definitely the shaggy type -- we brush her every night so that we can keep it long -- it's beautiful! For now, we just trim around her eyes/nose so she can see, but we'll probably have to get her fully trimmed soon for the hot months. Thank you for breeding such wonderful, healthy dogs. I have passed your name along to several people -- we get asked EVERYWHERE we go what kind of dog she is, where we got her, etc. I hope the referrals bring you even more business :)
