Grooming Your Doodle Yourself.... Most Likely Your Groomer Will Become Your Best Friend!

Ok, some of you have expressed a desire to learn to groom a doodle. It is necessary for me because I have several poodle and doodles. I also have a full service grooming room, tub and table. I will say that if I only had one doodle, I would take it to be groomed. The initial investment is pretty expensive. Also, the time it takes is several hours. I also have professional dryers.

This is something you can do but it is a big time commitment.

How to Teach a "Heel" Command with your Doodle

I always go to my guy Tab289 for great videos on how to train specific commands or teach good dog behaviors for your doodle.

Here is the link for Tab289's dog training video on how to teach your dog the "Heel" command.

Premier Calming Cap

We had big thunderstorms today in Middle TN. Maverick, our retired doodle stud struggles with thunderstorms. I can tell they are coming way before they get here because he starts pacing.

I have tried the Thundershirt on him with little success. I followed the directions and put it on him before the storm so he did not relate it as something bad. If you use one, you should be very aware of how best to use it.

I Want a Calm Dog Crash Course

A calm dog makes a great pet. Everyone that comes to our house loves Maverick, our ambassador at Serenity Farm Goldendoodle. He is a calm dog. Getting a dog to be calm takes dedication and your time. Tab 289, my favorite dog trainer gives us some great tips in all his videos but these two should be the starting point in your training. Be quick to reward calm behavior and do it consistently. This is a two part series so watch both of them.
